October School Holiday Series-Wander and Wonder at The Gables
Friday 10th October 2025 | 10:00-12:00pm | Wheelie Park, Gables**
Join us on a relaxing, sensory-rich nature wander through the Gables – specially designed for children and families. As part of the nature art experience, you’ll slow down, awaken your curiosity, and explore the small details of our local bushland while gathering natural materials along the way.
After the walk, the group will split into two: one group will use the gathered materials to create nature art, while the other will make seed bombs to help encourage the growth of native tree species in the area. Partway through the workshop, the groups will swap over so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy both activities.
Meeting Point: We will be meeting under the shaded area at Wheelie Park (see photo attached📸).
Parking: There is free street parking available. You can either park on the corner of Holstein Road and Sundowner Parking and walk acorss the Bridge for Wheelie Park OR you can park on Cataract Road and enter the gate into Wheelie Park. 🚗
What to Bring: Please bring a hat, sunscreen, drinking water and wear enclosed shoes. There is a bubbler on site if needed too. 👒
Important Information: At this stage, there are no toilets available on site. The nearest public toliets are Gables Town Centre.
The guided nature walk component of this event is approximately 1km long and on even paved paths that are pram friendly and physically accessible with those with reduced mobility. We recommend people who take part in this event are of reasonable fitness.
Event Attendance Policy: If you can’t attend the event, please cancel your ticket at least 12 hours in advance. No-shows or late cancellations may result in loss of future booking privileges. Please note this event is only available to residents of The Hills Shire.
