Description
Celebrate Christmas in July by learning a new skill and enjoying lunch with new friends.
Join Marco for a hands-on pasta-making workshop where you’ll learn to make fresh tortellini in broth from scratch, just like his Nonna taught him. You’ll roll, shape and fill your own pasta, then sit down together for a relaxed lunch with the other participants.
Tortellini in broth is a popular Christmas dish in central and northern Italy. It comes from the medieval tradition of a filled pastry called Tortellum ad Natale. It's popular at Christmas because the making involved all members of the family. It was filled with meat and cheese, a luxury reserved for special celebrations back then. The tortellini are served in a beef broth, perfect for a cold winter day.
After the workshop, you’ll share a glass of prosecco and enjoy your handmade tortellini in broth. Expect good food, warm stories, and that very satisfying “we made this” feeling.
What to expect
A guided, hands-on fresh tortellini workshop with Marco (from Abruzzo, Italy)
Lunch under the trees with a glass of prosecco
A relaxed, social vibe. Perfect for couples, friends, mums, or anyone you want to spoil
What to bring and wear
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a bit floury
Closed-in shoes (you’ll be in the kitchen)
A container for any leftovers
Please note that this workshop does not have a vegetarian option. If you are vegetarian, we also offer a Pasta making class with Marco on 11. July.
Make a morning of it:
Our weekly Farmers Market will be in full swing during your session, so arrive early for a coffee at Be Free Café, a wander through the stalls, and maybe a little local-produce shopping before you start.
